Jan 14, 2025; St. Louis, Missouri, USA; St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington (50) and defenseman Colton Parayko (55) celebrate their teams 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at Enterprise Center.

The St. Louis Blues will have two key players representing Team Canada at the upcoming Four Nations Tournament. Goaltender Jordan Binnington and defenseman Colton Parayko prepare to don the red and white on the international stage. Both players bring championship pedigree and valuable experience, making them key pieces for Canada's roster in this highly competitive event.

Parayko, known for his steady defensive presence and powerful shot, is projected to play on Canada's second defensive pairing alongside Winnipeg Jets star Josh Morrissey. The duo provides a solid blend of size, mobility, and offensive upside, giving Canada a reliable two-way presence on the blue line. He will take on a crucial role on the top penalty-killing unit, teaming up with Colorado Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews to shut down opposing power plays. His reach, physicality, and ability to break up plays will be invaluable in high-stakes matchups.

The 6-foot-6 blueliner is no stranger to international play, having participated in three IIHF World Championship tournaments for Team Canada. Over three tournaments, he has appeared in 26 games, scoring seven goals and 19 points.

Meanwhile, Binnington is expected to challenge for the starting goaltender role but could serve as the backup to Vegas Golden Knights netminder Adin Hill. Both goaltenders have lifted the Stanley Cup, with Binnington leading the Blues to their first championship in franchise history in 2019 and Hill playing a pivotal role in Vegas' 2023 title run. With their proven track records, Canada will have confidence in its goaltending, no matter who gets the nod between the pipes.

For Binnington, this tournament presents an opportunity to showcase his elite puck-tracking ability and fiery competitive edge on the international stage. His ability to steal games and perform under pressure could be a game-changer for Canada as they face elite competition from the U.S., Sweden, and Finland.

Paraykoโ€™s experience as a top-pairing shutdown defenseman in St. Louis will serve him well as he looks to contribute in key defensive situations. His ability to log heavy minutes against top competition makes him a crucial part of Canada's blue line structure.

The Four Nations Tournament will not only give these Blues stars a chance to represent their country but also to fine-tune their games against some of the best in the world. With Binnington and Parayko playing key roles, Team Canada will look to assert its dominance and bring home another international title.

Team Canada's first game will be at 7 p.m. CST against Team Sweden as part of the tournament's round-robin portion.
