The St. Louis Blues (29-26-6) secured a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings (31-19-8) on Saturday night. The victory marks their fourth consecutive win, as they continue to gain momentum following the break for the 4 Nations Face Off.
Game Recap:
Kevin Fiala opened the scoring for the Kings on a power play at 3:43 of the first period. The Blues responded with a Colton Parayko wrist shot goal at 9:38 to tie it at 1-1. Parayko’s goal marked his third in four games, bringing his season total to a career-high 15.
Pavel Buchnevich put the Blues ahead with a late first-period goal after the puck came loose in the crease. Midway through the second, Zack Bolduc extended the Blues’ lead to 3-1 with a breakaway goal.
Dylan Holloway capped off the win with a wrist shot goal early in the third period, securing the 4-1 final score.
The Blues have now won four in a row, their first four-game winning streak of the season. Los Angeles, on the other hand, has dropped three consecutive games.
Key Performers:
Parayko and Buchnevich each scored for the Blues in the first frame, while Holloway and Bolduc also found the back of the net later in the game to close it out for St. Louis.
Jordan Binnington was solid in net, stopping 25 of 26 shots (.962 save percentage). He continues to be the rock for this team, being 4-0-1 in his last five starts following the break.
Robert Thomas extended his point streak to nine games, assisting Buchnevich’s goal.
Kevin Fiala scored for the Kings, while David Rittich made 30 saves on 34 shots (.882 save percentage) for Los Angeles.
