No. 15 Mizzou (21-9, 10-7 SEC) dropped its third game in four outings with a 96-84 road loss to Oklahoma (18-12, 5-12 SEC) on Wednesday night.

Game Summary:

Oklahoma set the tone early, scoring on its first seven possessions to jump out to a 14-6 lead, unfamiliar territory for a typically fast-starting Tigers squad.

Mizzou struggled to contain Oklahoma’s offense, as the Sooners hit nine straight field goals during a decisive 19-5 run that saw them push their lead to 37-25 and never give it back. They shot a scorching 69% from the field in the first half, leading 50-37 at the break.

The Tigers showed a late spark, with Caleb Grill’s 3-pointer cutting the deficit to eight with around five minutes remaining, but Oklahoma's offensive dominance continued throughout the second half as they sealed the win.

Oklahoma finished the game shooting 57% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc, while Mizzou shot 47% overall and just 29% from deep. The Sooners also outscored the Tigers 48-34 in the paint.

Additional Notes:

Mizzou has dropped three of its last four games, with defensive struggles fueling the slump. Limiting other teams offensive pressure is what the Tigers will need to focus on heading into postseason play.

The Tigers will need a strong finish in their last regular-season game to gain momentum and lock in their desired spot in the upcoming SEC tournament.

Mizzou failed to cover the -4.5 spread, and the total went OVER the 162.5 line.

What’s Next:

The Tigers will play their final regular season game at home against No. 19 Kentucky on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CST at Mizzou Arena, with coverage on ESPN.
