Two members of St. Louis CITY SC were named to MLS’ Week 3 “Team of the Matchday.” CITY was the only club to be represented twice in the starting lineup — midfielder Cedric Teuchert and goalkeeper Roman Burki both took home first-team honors for week 3.

Teuchert contributed to CITY’s 3-0 drubbing of the defending MLS Cup champions, LA Galaxy, with a goal and an assist, his first of both this season. Burki maintained his clean sheet for the 2025 regular season campaign with an eight-save effort, tied for second-most in an MLS match. Burki was also named MLS’ Man of the Matchday for maintaining the team’s scoreless start.
While the team’s offense was off to a sluggish start, Sunday’s game marked an offensive rebirth for the club. CITY scored 62 goals in 2023, the third-most in the league, but only managed 47 last season, good for 19th in the league. CITY supporters certainly hope the team scores more in line with its inaugural campaign versus last season’s mediocre outing. More three-goal efforts will help them get to that goal total — and the top of the league table.
St. Louis CITY SC’s next match will be a home match against Seattle Sounders on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 PM CT, exclusively on Apple TV.
