Cardinals Look To End Mets’ Dominance

The St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets continue their series this afternoon at Busch Stadium (weather permitting).

The Cards are a .500 team this season against every other team not named the Mets. Unfortunately, they are now 0-5 against the Mets while being outscored in those games 28-12.

Regression Has Come For Fedde

Erick Fedde will be on the mound for the Redbirds today. He had been having good results despite poor underlying numbers, and regression came for him in his last start. Fedde was pounded for 7 runs on 10 hits in 5.2 innings against the Brewers on April 27th.

The right-hander has recorded just 17 strikeouts with 16 walks in his 32.2 innings this season.

Masterful Megill

The Mets send Tylor Megill to the hill today. The right-hander has been outstanding to begin the season with a 1.74 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 31 innings.

New York’s offense is humming right now with Juan Soto having picked up the slack as of late. I cashed a Soto prop in this column yesterday, and I see no reason to steer away from him for my pick today.

My Pick

Soto has 4 hits in 8 at-bats over his last two games, including two home runs and a double. I’m confident he’ll get at least one hit today, as Fedde doesn’t miss many bats and Soto is 2-for-3 against him in their brief history.

I’m going to parlay Soto to get a hit with the Mets to win the game at a plus money price. I was high on Fedde to begin the year, but his season so far had been smoke and mirrors and he got exposed in his last start. Megill has been good for the Mets in each of his six starts this season, and I see no reason for that to change today against a Cardinals offense that has scored more than 4 runs just 5 times in their last 17 games.

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at +112 on DraftKings - Mets on the moneyline AND Juan Soto to record 1+ hits (bet to +100)
