Jun 28, 2024; Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Adam Jiricek is selected by the St. Louis Blues with the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft at The Sphere.

The 2024 NHL Draft marked a pivotal moment for the St. Louis Blues, who entered with a deep draft pool and nine total selections. With a focus on defense and long-term upside, the front office stocked the pipeline with a mix of raw tools, offensive flair, and physical edge.

Now, one season later, we have a clearer picture of how those picks have progressed. Some are trending toward impact NHL roles. Others are still finding their footing.

Here’s a full review of how each draftee performed in 2024–25, including development context, standout trends, and letter grades based on expectations and draft position.

Round 1, #16 – Adam Jiříček (D)

    •    2024–25: OHL – 27 GP, 4 G, 8 A, 12 PTS, +10

    •    Czech U20: 9 GP, 0 G, 5 A, 5 PTS

Jiříček transitioned to North American hockey with a solid showing in the OHL. His +10 rating stands out after a tough draft year defensively, and while the offense hasn’t popped yet, the two-way foundation is improving.

Grade: B

Round 2, #48 – Colin Ralph (D)

    •    2024–25: NCAA – 35 GP, 1 G, 7 A, 8 PTS, -4

After dominating prep and junior hockey, Ralph’s NCAA freshman year was a reality check. His eight points and negative rating suggest growing pains, though not unusual in Year 1 against tougher competition.

Grade: C

Round 2, #56 – Lukas Fischer (D)

    •    2024–25: OHL – 51 GP, 15 G, 22 A, 37 PTS, -19

    •    AHL: 3 GP, 0 PTS, -6

Fischer’s offensive spike (15 goals from the back end) was impressive. The defensive metrics, however, remain a concern. A brief, rough AHL cameo shows he’s not NHL-ready just yet.

Grade: B-

Round 3, #81 – Ondřej Kos (F)

    •    2024–25: U20 SM-sarja – 10 GP, 14 PTS | Liiga – 26 GP, 5 PTS | Czech U20 – 13 GP, 5 PTS

Kos had flashes of brilliance at the junior level but didn’t translate that into consistent success in Finland’s top league. A multi-league development season gave him valuable reps, but he still has steps to take.

Grade: B

Round 3, #95 – Adam Jecho (F)

    •    2024–25: WHL – 56 GP, 25 G, 28 A, 53 PTS, +3

Jecho’s all-around game took a leap this year. He’s not just a scorer — his +3 rating (up from -7) reflects improved responsibility. Steady growth in a strong WHL role makes him a name to watch.

Grade: B+

Round 4, #113 – Tomas Mrsic (F)

    •    2024–25: WHL – 65 GP, 33 G, 57 A, 90 PTS, +5

The breakout star of this draft class. Mrsic jumped from 62 to 90 points, combining dynamic puck skills with vision and finishing touch. He’s played himself into a legit top-six projection.

Grade: A

Round 5, #145 – William McIsaac (D)

    •    2024–25: WHL – 66 GP, 6 G, 31 A, 37 PTS, +46

McIsaac maintained his offensive pace while showing one of the most dramatic defensive improvements of any Blues prospect. His +46 rating suggests serious maturity in his game.

Grade: A-

Round 7, #211 – Matvei Korotky (F)

    •    2024–25: MHL – 27 GP, 31 PTS | KHL – 30 GP, 9 PTS | VHL – 2 GP, 1 PTS

A classic seventh-round swing, Korotky flashed top-line potential in the MHL but showed the usual growing pains at the KHL level. Still, 9 points in Russia’s top league at his age is notable.

Grade: B-

Round 7, #209 – Antoine Dorion (F)

    •    2024–25: QMJHL – 56 GP, 10 G, 5 A, 15 PTS, -28

    •    Playoffs: 4 GP, 1 G, +1

Dorion’s lone year with Quebec was a struggle. The minus-28 rating and lack of playmaking are red flags, even if he had a better playoff showing. He’ll need to reinvent his game in 2025–26.

Grade: C-

2024 Draft Class Grade: B+

This class features real upside, especially beyond the first two rounds. Mrsic looks like a future NHL middle-six contributor, and McIsaac and Jecho are exceeding expectations. Jiříček and Kos are progressing as expected, despite the multiple injuries sustained by Jiříček this season. Fischer and Korotky have shown flashes and continue to have expectations raised while exceeding expectations. Ralph and Dorion bring up the rear, but even then, the group as a whole carries promising depth and future value.
