Blues Return From Break
The St. Louis Blues resume their season tonight when the Seattle Kraken visit Enterprise Center.
These teams met once previously this season, with the Kraken edging the Blues 4-3 in overtime back on November 8th in St. Louis.
Blues Look For Fresh Start
The Olympic break came at a good time for the Blues, as they had dropped eight of nine games leading into it. Five of the defeats came by a single goal during that span.
If the Blues can take any optimism heading into the stretch run, a big reason is because it was around this time last season when they got incredibly hot after returning from the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Blues went 19-4-3 after that point to rally for a playoff spot.
Kraken Warm And Ready
Seattle was able to shake off the rust last night and return to action from the Olympic break. Unfortunately for the Kraken, they came out flat and got handily beaten by the Stars 4-1 in Dallas.
While the Blues’ state of mind for the stretch run is up for debate, Seattle will certainly not lack motivation tonight. The Kraken currently occupy the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, 3 points ahead of the Kings.
My Lean
I always recommend treading lightly with wagering early in seasons and after long breaks, so be careful betting this one. But I view Seattle having an edge with being able to shake off the rust last night while the Blues are coming in cold.
I also don’t understand the Blues being this big of a favorite. They have been terrible as a favorite this season, posting a 4-14 record on the moneyline. So I lean with the Kraken to emerge victorious this evening.
Lean: Kraken on the moneyline at +124 on DraftKings
