Blues Head To Minnesota
The St. Louis Blues begin a four-game road trip today against the Minnesota Wild.
The Blues have today’s game before heading out west for three games with Seattle, San Jose, and Anaheim later in the week.
Blues Looking To Rebound
It has been a season of one step forward, one step (or more) back for the Blues. They looked terrific in returning from the Olympic break in routing Seattle 5-1, but they followed that up with a 3-1 loss yesterday against New Jersey.
One positive for the Blues is they have excelled in the second game of back-to-back’s this season, posting a record of 5-3-2.
Wild Looking Good
Minnesota saw its six-game winning streak come to an end on Friday with a 5-2 loss at Utah. Now the Wild return home where they are 17-6-7 this season.
The Wild and Blues haven’t met since the opening night of the season in St. Louis, which unfortunately was a sign of things to come with Minnesota demolishing the Blues 5-0.
My Lean
The Wild are one of the NHL’s best teams, so will they win this game? Probably - but I have no interest in laying -245. You’re going to have a really difficult time being profitable in sports gambling long-term if you’re betting big favorites like that too often.
Instead, I think the better look is on the total. The Wild have been one of the league’s best over teams with the over going 37-23 in their games. There have been at least 7 goals in 14 of their last 15 games.
The Blues had a low-scoring game yesterday, but that was against the NHL’s best under team in the Devils. That stopped a streak of 7 straight Blues games featuring at least 6 goals.
If you’re going to bet this one, I’d go with the over.
Lean: Over 5.5 at -135 on DraftKings
